Meet Our Board of Directors
Quena Batres | President – May 2019
Quena transplanted from Minnesota to Seattle to serve two AmeriCorps terms with EarthCorps. It was there that she grew a love for conservation work and working with community members. Since then she has guided backpacking trips in Guatemala, worked for the Student Conservation Association, and Washington Environmental Council. Currently, Quena works in community organizing at the Trust for Public Land. She spends her free time visiting family in Guatemala, hiking and climbing around Washington. She is an avid believer that the outdoors and the environmental field should be accessible to everyone and continues to seek ways to make it a more inclusive space.
Alex Russell | Board Member – January 2020
Alex joined Ecowomen in January 2020. She received a BS in Environmental Studies from Portland State University and went on to get her Masters in Public Administration with a focus on Environmental Policy at UW. She has been working for the Peace Corps for the last five years as a Placement Specialist. Before that she served as a Volunteer in Ecuador focusing on Community Development and Environmental Education. In her free time she enjoys trying to learn aerial silks, camping, and making recycled wallets.
Megan Snowden | Board Member – October 2020
Megan works on the Microsoft campus as a Sustainability Supervisor where her main focus is around waste reduction. As a TRUE Zero Waste Advisor she tracks the campuses resource diversion data along with curating educational sustainability campaigns. Megan is a Seattle native who earned her undergraduate at the University of Washington in Environmental Studies focusing on world food systems and corporate sustainability. In her free time she enjoys exploring new places and using photography to capture these experiences.
Katrina Radach | Board Member – October 2020
Katrina Radach (She/Her) has a background in oceanography and environmental policy. She is passionate about systemic change, environmental justice, and bridging connections with communities about science, policy, and the environment. She currently works as a project associate for an environmental consulting firm, Triangle Associates. When she is not working, she can be found going for long runs, baking, bouldering, or falling in love with any fluffy animal.
Maggie Greene | Board Member – October 2020
Maggie is a passionate ally, communicator, and eco-fashionista who supports making active choices and creating space to empower other women. She’s a small business owner and active volunteer connecting women in need with low-barrier resources. Women’s relationship to clothing consumption fascinates Maggie, and she’s committed to reducing fashion waste by challenging others to shop secondhand first. She lives in South King County with her partner Scott, 3 dogs, and 2 cats. Learn more about her on LinkedIn
Micaela Unda | Board Member – October 2020
Micaela has a background in climate policy and environmental writing. Working at the intersection of communication and research, Micaela’s passion is to translate environmental concepts into action-oriented equitable strategies. She currently works as a research associate for Ross Strategic. Out of the office, you can find Micaela rock-climbing, hiking, searching for sunshine, exploring botanical gardens, and looking for the best chocolate croissant in Seattle.
